More about awnings

The automation is obtained by simply inserting the motor, known as tubular due to its form, inside the tube around which the blind is wound. Control can be from the immediate vicinity, with a simple wall-mounted control, or via radio with a portable radio control.

The motor moves smoothly in order to have a screen which is always taut and is available with an emergency manoeuvre which can be used during black-outs to action the blind.

Automating pre-existing awnings is easy, convenient and fast thanks to the possibility of installing an automation system via radio with a control unit built in the tubular motor.

This solution avoids the cost and burden of masonry or the installation of unsightly cable ducts for routing control cables.

With an automated awning you'll save time, as you won't need to manually raise or lower each single awning; you'll save money, as you’ll have an energetic saving thanks to the device that controls the awnings opening and closing, depending on the weather conditions, which increase the thermal efficiency of the house. The house is safer: everything is closed and protected even if you're not present (if a strong wind rises, the awnings will automatically roll up thanks to the climatic sensors; the awnings can raise or lower in order to simulate your presence in the house thanks to the programmable timer, ...).

Do you have a classical armed awning?

This kind of awning can be wall-mounted or installed on the ceiling.
In order to choose the ideal automation you'll need to know: the diameter of the tube around which the awning rolls, how much the awning protrudes and the number of arms of the structure.

Do you have a box awning?

The box awnings protect the screen in a better way and keep unaltered the architectonic setting in which they are placed.
The box, when closed, becomes an integral protection of the mechanical parts, the motorizations and the screen. This kind of awning is ideal for installations in areas near the sea or with a lot of pollution.

Do you have a canopy awning?

The canopy version is ideal to protect shop windows, the entrance or the balconies of a house in the city or in the country.

Do you have an arbour awning or a  wintergarden?

Arbour awning or wintergarden are medium to large covering systems right to protect verandas, external areas of bars, restaurants or penthouses and private gardens.
They slide on lateral drivers or on a metallic structure to make even external areas places to live during each different season.

What is the difference between an automation with cable control and a one with radio control?

In a wired system, via cables, the control is connected to the tubular motor by means of electric cables that transmit the commands to the motor, and the control unit can be built into the motor or concealed in the vicinity.

On radio systems, the controls are transmitted via radio waves. There are no electric cables between the motor and control. The control is mobile and therefore the user can operate the blinds also from another room. Installation of this type of system is quicker and avoids the need for building work.

Is the awning safe in case of strong winds?

The climatic sensors detect strong winds and make the awning roll up, protecting it, so that the awning structure and screen will last longer.
The luminosity sensor lowers the screen to protect the terrace and the inside of your house from the sun's light and heat.

For expert users: find the tubular motor to meet your needs!

The information you need to choose the right type of automation includes: the weight of the blind, obtained by multiplying the surface area in square metres by the weight per square metre of the material used and the diameter of the winding roller.

For further information and to find the tubular motor that best suits your needs, consult the selection guide.

Nice advantages
With just a click, total control!
With a Nice remote control you can control the whole range of automations for gates, garages, awnings and rolling shutters, alarm systems as well as irrigation and lighting systems and electrical loads; each single automation or groups of automations (the rolling shutter of the living room; all the rolling shutters of the first floor; rolling shutters and awnings of the southern side; ...)
Nice advantages

Comfort and energy saving thanks to the most complete range of climatic sensors
The Nemo series of climatic sensors, reliable and precise, detect the weather conditions and manage awning movement in complete autonomy according to the detected weather and environmental conditions.

Tailor-made solutions to satisfy all installation needs: wireless climate sensors Sun and Wind-Sun with integrated photovoltaic cells and solar powered, Wind-Sun-Rain and Sun-Rain radio sensors, resistant also to humidity to avoid inadvertent activation and guarantee optimal movement management.

Nice will take care of it - what could be more convenient?

Nice advantages

Security combines with automation: NiceHome System
The NiceHome System combines Nice control devices simplicity and completeness with the professionalism of the alarm systems the group companies have developed according to their 30-year experience.

Apart from the alarm systems, the user can directly manage up to 18 controls for automation, illumination and electrical loads. Everything with a 100% wireless solution: maximum safety with maximum ease!

Nice advantages

The invisible touch: recessed remote control
The Tag system, disappearing inside standard wall mounted plates and suitable to confined spaces, are ideal for restorations and upgrades of existing systems to control home automations, lighting points and all loads up to 500 W not directly accessible from cable controls.

All without the need to replace the existing system or involve building work!

Nice advantages

Simpler and quicker installation with the Nice NRC radio technology!
The Nice Radio Connection system, uses transmission via radio to simplify installation, programming and the use of all automations.

This solution avoids the costs and time-consuming building work, and the application of unsightly ducting for the routing of control cables, to make for much simpler and economic installation of all automations in new or renovated buildings.
