Nice expands its European critical infrastructure security capabilities with its HySecurity division

September 2026 - Product News

Protecting people and places to keep the world moving.

Nice is strengthening its presence in the European security market with the structured introduction of its HySecurity division, offering high-security gates, barriers and hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) solutions.

The move expands Nice's capabilities in a field of growing importance for governments, infrastructure operators and businesses: protecting people, access points and critical sites while maintaining the continuous movement of vehicles, goods and essential operations.

The solutions will be presented at International Security Expo 2026, taking place at Olympia London on 29-30 September, where Nice will exhibit at Booth C90.

Part of the Nice group since 2016, HySecurity brings more than six decades of experience in perimeter security for airports, government facilities, utilities, petrochemical plants, correctional facilities and data centres. Founded in the 1960s and headquartered near Seattle, Washington, HySecurity is Nice’s division specializing in hydraulic gate operators and crash-rated barriers for demanding high-security and critical-infrastructure environments. Its promise puts people at the center: protecting people and places to keep the world moving.

Until now, HySecurity products have reached European specifiers primarily on a project-by-project basis. Following the CE certification of an initial range of products, Nice is establishing a structured route to market in Europe, supported by local commercial and technical teams and the Group's network of installers and system integrators. Nice is well known in the European panorama, and it exists so people can move through their everyday lives freely, safely, and without a second thought — this is the promise of Smart Living. HySecurity extends that exact same promise to the places society depends on most: airports, borders, data centers, government sites.

This business expansion comes as physical infrastructure protection is moving higher on the European agenda. Transport hubs, energy and water infrastructure, data centres, government estates, logistics facilities and public spaces face the same fundamental challenge, raising levels of physical protection without creating new obstacles to the people, vehicles and operations that need to move through them every day.

Recent European and UK regulatory developments reflect this growing focus on resilience. The European Commission's proposed Public Procurement Act places greater emphasis on resilience and security of supply in strategic sectors, while frameworks including CER and NIS2 have reinforced the importance of infrastructure resilience across Europe. In the UK, data centres have been designated as Critical National Infrastructure and are being brought within a stronger statutory resilience framework.

For infrastructure operators, this creates growing demand for security systems that combine physical protection, controlled access and operational reliability — precisely what Nice aims to deliver through its HySecurity division.

“Being present at International Security Expo is an important opportunity to show how Nice is strengthening its role in the protection of critical infrastructure in Europe,” said Alessandro Spagnol, Group Head of Gate & Door Business Unit, Nice. “By combining HySecurity’s engineering expertise with Nice’s local presence and broader capabilities in access automation, control and connectivity, we can address a key challenge for infrastructure operators: increasing protection without compromising the continuity of people, vehicles and essential operations. This is what we mean by protecting people and places to keep the world moving.”

High-security solutions for the European market

At International Security Expo, Nice will showcase three CE-certified HySecurity solutions now available in Europe:

StrongArm® M30/M50 - crash-rated HVM barrier arm

Designed to prevent vehicle intrusion at high-security sites, StrongArm uses a patented dual-arm configuration capable of stopping both heavy and passenger vehicles. The M30 and M50 versions are crash-rated to ASTM F2656-07 and designed for demanding continuous-duty applications.

SlideDriver™ II - hydraulic slide gate operator

HySecurity's industrial slide gate operator is designed for continuous operation in demanding environments and for gates weighing up to 9,072 kg. Connectivity and diagnostic capabilities enable remote monitoring, management and maintenance across distributed sites.

HydraSwing® - heavy-duty hydraulic swing gate operator

Designed for large and heavy swing gates, HydraSwing handles leaves of up to 6,804 kg and 12 metres. Its remote power and control configuration also allows key components to be positioned away from the access point, supporting both operational reliability and physical protection.

The three solutions integrate with Nice's broader access, control and connectivity ecosystem, enabling high-security access points to operate as part of a wider site management environment.

Nice will also present solutions from its established automation portfolio, including the Titan 6024HS high-speed swing gate operator with MC824H control unit, the M5 Bar road barrier and the Tub4000 underground operator.
