How to programme the Nice Wingo 4024 motor for swing gates

This video provides instructions on how to programme the Nice WingoKit 4024 (WINGO4024KCE) to automate swing gates: position search and memorising a Nice transmitter using Method 2.

This procedure is valid for Era Inti, Era One, Era Flor, Flor and Very VR series transmitters and the MC424L control unit.

FAQ

1) What type of gate can I automate with the WingoKit 4024?

With the WingoKit 4024, you can automate swing gates with leafs measuring up to 2 m long.

2) In the event of a blackout, how can I open the gate?

If the PS124 backup battery has been installed, the motor will continue to operate even in the event of power failure.

If no backup battery has been installed, release the motor and move the gate manually as shown in the first part of the video.

3) How can I adjust gate movement speed?

You can adjust gate movement speed at any time. When the motor is stationary and the control unit is not in programming mode, LED P3 indicates the speed set:

  • LED P3 off = slow movement
  • LED P3 on = fast movement.

To change the speed, just press LED P3.

The motor movement is set by default to fast.

4) How should I interpret the behaviour of the P2 diagnostics LED on the control unit?

The P2 diagnostics LED indicates possible malfunctions detected during the manoeuvre.

The number of flashes indicates the type of error.

Number of flashes Diagnostics
1 Current sensitivity device triggered Motor 1. Motor 1 is in a state of mechanical load during the leaf opening phase.
2 Current sensitivity device triggered Motor 2. Motor 2 is in a state of mechanical load during the leaf opening phase.
3 ALT input triggered during the manoeuvre.
4 Phototest error.
5 Gate open indicator or electric lock output overcurrent.

5) What should I do if no LED on the control unit is on?

If no LED on the control unit is on, check that the control unit is powered and that there is a tension of about 30 Vdc on terminals 9 and 10 (24 Vdc in the case of battery power).

If the control unit is correctly powered, check there are no fuses blown.

6) Why is the P1 LED on the control unit flashing every 4 seconds?

If the P1 LED on the control unit flashes every 4 seconds, this indicates that the control unit is in the "all in standby" state. The "all in standby" function set previously means that the control unit enters energy-saving mode one minute after the end of the manoeuvre, turning off all inputs and outputs and reducing consumption.

7) Why doesn't the "automatic position search" procedure start?

The "automatic position search" procedure is activated only if it has never been run previously or if the memory of the control unit has been deleted.

To check if the memory of the control unit is empty, turn the power off for a few seconds and then on again: when power to the control unit comes on, all the LEDs should flash quickly for about 6 seconds. If, on the other hand, they flash for just 3 seconds, the memory already contains valid values.

If you want to perform a new "automatic position search", the memory must be totally deleted.

8) How can I totally delete the memory of the control unit?

To delete the memory of the control unit, proceed as follows, respecting the sequence:

  • Turn power to the control unit off and wait for all the LEDs to go out.
  • Press and hold the P1 and P2 keys of the control unit and simultaneously power the control unit again.
  • Release the P1 and P2 keys exactly 3 seconds after you have powered the control unit again.

If deletion of the memory has been successful, all the LEDs will go off for one second.

If, on the other hand, the LEDs continue to flash, the memory deletion procedure must be repeated.

9) During opening or closing, why is gate movement inverted?

Inversion of gate movement during opening or closing may be caused by:

  • Triggering of the photocells (PHOTO2 during opening, PHOTO or PHOTO1 during closing); in this case, check the connections of the photocells and the input indicator LEDs.
  • Triggering of the current sensitivity device while the motors are moving. In this case, observe the number of flashes emitted by the P2 diagnostics LED: 1 flash indicates triggering of the current sensitivity device on motor 1; 2 flashes indicate triggering of the current sensitivity device on motor 2.

10) How can I access level one programming of the control unit?

To access level one programming of the control unit, press and hold the P1 and P2 keys of the control unit simultaneously for at least 3 seconds: a quick flash by all LEDs indicates that you have entered programming mode.

11) In level one programming of the control unit, how can I activate or deactivate a function?

In level one programming of the control unit, you can activate or deactivate a number of functions.

Each LED (L1, L2, L3, L4, L5) corresponds to a different function: if the LED is on, the function is active, if the LED is off the function is not active.

To activate or deactivate a function after accessing programming:

  • Press the P1 key of the control unit repeatedly until the flashing LED corresponds to the desired function.
  • Press the P2 key to activate or deactivate the function.

12) Which functions can I activate or deactivate in the first part of level one programming of the control unit?

In level one programming of the control unit, you can activate or deactivate a number of functions, each represented by an LED.

In particular, the first part of level one programming includes the following functions.

  • LED L1 automatic closing: the gate closes automatically after the programmed pause time. The pause time is initially set at 20 seconds, but may be modified to 5, 10, 20, 40 or 80 seconds.
  • LED L2 apartment block function: if this function is active, each command received triggers an opening manoeuvre which cannot be interrupted by further commands. This function is useful in apartment blocks or commercial contexts when many people use the automation with radio control.
  • LED L3 pre-flash: the flashing light is activated for 3 seconds before the manoeuvre begins.
If the function is not active, the flashing light starts flashing when the manoeuvre starts.
  • LED L4 close after photo: when the automatic closing function is active, this reduces the pause time to 4 seconds when the photocell has detected transit of the subject.
If the function is not active, the gate will close after the programmed value.
  • LED L5 opening delay: during opening, there is a delay in activating the motor of the bottom leaf with respect to that of the top leaf, avoiding collision of the leafs.
The staggered closing is always present and is calculated automatically by the control unit on the basis of the delay programmed for the opening phase.

13) How can I pass from the first to the second part of level one programming of the control unit?

To pass from the first to the second part of level one programming of the control unit, press the P3 key.

When the P3 LED is off, the control unit is in the first part of level one programming.

When the P3 LED is on, the control unit is in the second part of level one programming.

14) Which functions can I activate or deactivate in the second part of level one programming of the control unit?

In the second part of level one programming of the control unit, the following functions can be activated or deactivated.

LED L1 All in standby / Phototest. When the All in standby function is active, 1 minute after the end of the manoeuvre, the control unit turns all inputs and outputs off to reduce consumption. This function is obligatory if the control unit is powered exclusively by Solemyo photovoltaic panels and is recommended if the control unit is powered by the mains power supply and you want to increase operating autonomy in an emergency with the PS124 backup battery.
The Phototest function verifies correct operation of the connected photocells at the beginning of each manoeuvre.

LED L2 electric lock: when active, this function allows an electric lock to be connected to terminals 6 and 7.
If the function is not active, terminals 6 and 7 can be used to connect a gate open indicator.

LED L3 resistive ALT: if the function is active, to allow the manoeuvre, there must be a resistance of 8.2 KΩ +/-25% between the common and the input.
If the function is not active, the ALT input operates with NC type contacts.

LED L4 heavy gates: when active, this function makes it possible to manage heavy gates by setting different acceleration ramps and deceleration speed during closing.
If it is not active, the control unit is set to control light gates.

LED L5 proportional GOI: when active, during the opening manoeuvre the intensity of flashing increases as the leafs get nearer to the opening limit switches; vice a versa, during the closing manoeuvre, the intensity of flashing is less intense as the leafs get nearer to the closing limit switches.
If the function is not active, flashing is slow during opening and quick during closing.

15) How can I exit level one programming of the control unit and save all the modifications made?

To exit level one programming of the control unit and confirm the modifications, press and hold the P1 and P2 keys simultaneously for at least 3 seconds.

16) How can I exit level one programming of the control unit and cancel all the modifications made?

To exit level one programming of the control unit and cancel the modifications made, there are three possibilities:

  • Press and hold the P1 key for at least 3 seconds;
  • Or wait 1 minute without performing any operation on the control unit;
  • Or turn the power control unit off.

17) How can I access level two programming of the control unit?

To access level two programming of the control unit, proceed as follows, respecting the sequence:

  • Access level one programming by pressing and holding the P1 and P2 keys for at least 3 seconds.
  • Select the desired function by pressing the P1 key and moving the LED to the corresponding position.
  • Access level two by pressing and holding the P2 key for at least 3 seconds.

18) Which functions and parameters can I manage in level two programming of the control unit?

From the first part of level one programming of the control unit, you can pass to level two where you can choose various parameters relative to the function.

Once you are in level two programming, choose the parameter you want to modify and press the P2 key to move the LED to the desired parameter.

In particular, the following parameters can be managed.
