Sun Shading Solutions: The new Nice Business Unit for the “Screen” segment
The year 2021 started with a new Nice milestone in the path of the group. On January 1st, the new Sun Shading Solutions Business Unit was launched. The new BU is in charge of the entire group´s solar screen systems and embraces the operations of Nice, elero and TTGO, which range from roller blinds, shutters and shades to exterior and façade shading.
Two facts lay the foundation for this new Business Unit. On the one hand there is a great global demand for automated sun shading systems: by joining forces and adopting a coordinated strategy we will be able to address the requests of the market with unprecedented strength to develop our full sales potential. In this respect the Covid-19 pandemic, and the consequent constraints, act as an accelerator by leading many public facilities to redesign their premises to enlarge their capacities, sometimes even using outdoor spaces. All around the world there is a strong creative drive to reconfigure indoor and outdoor spaces and this requires new technology in terms of shading that can fit different seasons. On the other hand, the establishment of the BU helps the group achieve economies of scale that allow for a reduction in purchase and production costs, leveraging on higher volumes, standardization, and modular products.
The Business Unit was created to strengthen and widen our network, so that Nice can become the second strongest player in the global market. Counting on a multi-brand portfolio, it will become easier to meet the requirements of clients and end users alike. Thanks to the new BU, we will better target specific markets and benefit from the integration between the brands, thus boosting the Nice ecosystem with its advanced technology. Sun Shading Solutions stems from a close cooperation with elero, Nice Group’s German company specialized in the screen domain. The BU will be headquartered in Oderzo (Italy) and Schlierbach (Germany) with an agile organization. The new BU team is led by Enzo Viola, elero’s Managing Director. He explained: “We aim to become increasingly successful in new market segments on a global scale, still guaranteeing a focus on the customers at the local level. Thanks to our closeness to the market, the expertise of a traditional German company and the strength of a global player, we have all we need to reach this goal”.
2021 will be an important year for Nice. The creation of a new BU broadens our offer and strengthen our vision so that we can better meet the needs of the customers: thanks to a large product portfolio across all price ranges we will ultimately acquire new market shares. At the same time, it will be a major challenge for all the group’s subsidiaries: the BU is a new opportunity to test and improve collaboration between all the departments and markets, thus reinforcing the group’s global integrated approach.
